About the coffee producer
Ipanema is one of Brazil’s most renowned coffee producers, celebrated for its commitment to quality and innovation in specialty coffee. In 2018, the farm introduced its Premier Cru range—a collection of small-batch, handcrafted coffees sourced from the highest altitudes of the historic Rio Verde estate.
Spanning 1,566 hectares, Rio Verde features over 260 hectares above 1,000 metres, divided into 32 unique plots (glebes), each with distinct altitude, sun exposure, soil composition, and a single coffee varietal. This meticulous approach allows Ipanema to push the boundaries of what Brazilian specialty coffee can achieve, with each Premier Cru lot reflecting the singular terroir of its origin.
About the coffee processing
The Orange Composition is a 100% Yellow Bourbon lot, harvested in the summer of 2024, from Glebe B73 at Rio Verde. The cherries were selectively hand-picked at peak ripeness, then processed using the traditional natural method.
After harvesting, the cherries were dried on patios for 102 hours and finished in vertical dryers for an additional 65 hours. Once fully dried, the coffee was rested in bags before being hulled and prepared for export. This careful, lot-by-lot approach highlights the vibrant, fruit-forward character of Yellow Bourbon and exemplifies the precision and dedication behind Ipanema’s Premier Cru coffees.
