Description
About A Bigger Splash:
Unlike many Brazilian coffees known for their classic nutty profile, A Bigger Splash is vibrant, juicy, and unapologetically fruit-forward. Expect a cup bursting with ripe jackfruit, layered with rich chocolate and carried by a smooth, syrupy body. There’s a jammy sweetness running throughout, balanced and indulgent without ever feeling heavy.
This is a coffee made for summer. Bright, playful, and refreshing, A Bigger Splash shines when served over ice or brewed as a cold brew. It’s the kind of coffee that fits effortlessly into long, warm afternoons—whether you’re hosting a barbecue, relaxing by the pool, or just chasing something a little more lively in the cup.
About the Coffee Producer:
A Bigger Splash comes from Bela Vista Farm in southern Minas Gerais, where Paulo Crabi turned a humble beginning into one of Brazil’s most forward-thinking coffee estates. Starting in 1981 with 3,450 seedlings, his operation now spans over 600 hectares of coffee across 27 properties, rooted in a philosophy of precision, care, and long-term quality.
At Bela Vista, tradition meets technology. Paulo uses advanced drip fertigation systems guided by satellite climate monitoring, delivering water and nutrients directly to each plant’s roots with zero waste. This targeted approach not only conserves resources but ensures consistent cherry development and clarity in the cup.
Harvesting combines modern efficiency with hands-on selection: mechanical picking for mature trees and manual harvesting for younger plants, maintaining quality across every lot. The result is a coffee that reflects decades of refinement—clean, expressive, and deeply connected to its origin.
A Bigger Splash is a celebration of that journey: from a few thousand seedlings to millions of carefully cultivated trees, all driven by innovation and an uncompromising pursuit of flavour.
About the Coffee Processing:
Unlike many other Brazilian coffees that are known for their nutty profile, A Bigger Splash stands out with a bold, fruit-forward character shaped by an innovative processing approach. Fresh coffee cherries are first sealed in a covered hopper, creating a low-oxygen environment that builds pressure and intensifies natural sweetness while amplifying complex fruit notes.
After fermentation, the cherries are dried slowly on patios with the fruit still intact, allowing sugars to concentrate and develop into rich, jam-like flavours. This combination of controlled fermentation and traditional natural processing brings out distinctive notes of ripe red berries and deep, syrupy sweetness.
Once the cherries reach an optimal moisture level of 10.5–11%, they are hulled and prepared for export, preserving a vibrant and expressive cup that reflects the precision behind every step.
